Learn About Natural Deodorants and the Detox Phase

The Detox Phase

The most important thing when switching to a natural deodorant is the detox/rest phase. It generally takes 2-4 weeks for your body to detox from commercial antiperspirants that are designed to block your pores and keep you from sweating (p.s. this is not good). As your body resets, you will notice an increase of sweat and potentially smell. This is your body telling you it is balancing out!

The four stages of detox go like this:

1.This is great! You stop your antiperspirant and start using a natural deodorant. You love the way it makes your skin feel and it smells great! You can do it! It can take a few days to a week for the sweating and stinking to really set in!

2. The worst part! You notice more sweating and potential stink. Just hold out another week or so and it will be worth it!

3. A difference! Once you enter this phase, you’ll notice that the stink is going down. You might still be sweating more than before but no smell.

4. You’ve made it! Around week 4, your underarms are less sweaty and less stinky. Your body has balanced out the way it should.

Ingredients-why we chose the ones we did.

Capric Triglyceride, aka coconut oil and glycerin, provides a nice slip to the deodorant. It protects the skin's moisture barrier.

Beeswax will keep the deodorant firm and stable. It binds our powerhouse list of ingredients.

Cornstarch helps keep your underarms dry. It provides a faster soak-in time.

Magnesium Hydroxide is the active ingredient in our deodorants. It replaces aluminum to provide a natural recipe while balancing out your skin's PH to keep stinky bacteria from growing.

Zinc Ricinoleate is known for it's antibacterial and healing properties.

Cetearyl Alcohol is crucial for the texture of the deodorant. It's lighter weight than oils or butters than can stain clothes. It firms up the bar and contributes to that smooth glide.
